Hi Keisha, I think you're going through a necessary (but not always smooth or easy!) process of figuring out who your narrator is, what her relationship to the main characters is, and what the underlying mood of the story is. You've fleshed out a lot of back story in this draft, which should serve you well as you map it all out.
